Established by Paul and Michelle Milton in 2001, the innovative East Tamaki-based company specialises in custom-built kitchens and other cabinetry including vanities, laundries, commercial, shop and office fittings.
A qualified cabinetmaker with 26 years experience, Paul focuses on quality products and total customer satisfaction. In particular, a recent new, two-kitchen project in St Mary’s Bay easily shows the company’s creative style and skill.
“Two kitchens were required on different levels in the home,” Paul says. “One was the main kitchen (pictured), and the other a ‘bar’ kitchen for the entertainment area.”
Quartz benchtops feature in the main kitchen. There’s a custom-made range hood designed by Paul and handle-less cabinetry painted in a 30% gloss lacquer finish using Resene’s Quarter Arrowtown.
The high stud has allowed the cabinetry to extend to 2.8m high while a wall of dark stained American white oak holds the fridge, pantry, further storage and the media centre that co-ordinates the audio visual equipment in the home.
The bar kitchen is similar in style although stainless steel was chosen for the benchtops. Stainless steel kickboards feature in both designs and reaction to the outcome of this project has been overwhelmingly positive.
Kitchen remodelling is another Milton Kitchens’ specialty, with the team carrying out everything from budget cosmetic make-overs to stunning structural conversions.
“Replacing doors and handles and maximising space by converting cupboards into drawers makes a huge difference in a kitchen. Also, island bars can completely transform a tired design into a very contemporary one,” says Paul.
Milton Kitchens offers a full design and build service; co-ordinates sub-trades; performs all installations and manages projects from start to finish.
“We provide a 10-year guarantee on workmanship and a lifetime guarantee on hardware. Quotes are free and we give the same attention to every client, regardless of the scale of the project.”
