Why customers choose Jag Kitchens as their kitchen supplier...
To discuss your new kitchen project call: Jag Kitchens. Open 7 days (inside Danske Mobler), Botany Town Centre, Ph 271-3131.
There are a multitude of reasons as to why clients choose Jag Kitchens when renovating or building but initially, they appreciate the Jag design team’s experience and understanding of what makes a practical and workable kitchen that is aesthetically pleasing and suits their needs.
Secondly they know Jag builds and supplies custom sized kitchens at around the same price as a modular one.
Jag owners Malcolm and Lesley McLagan have extensive industry experience and say it used to be that homeowners bought either a mass produced modular kitchen and lived with the compromises or they paid a premium for a hand-built custom kitchen.
Not anymore. Their competitively-priced, custom-sized kitchens need no filler panels and cabinetry can be taken to ceiling height so no unusable gap is left at the top of the cabinets to catch dust.
“The kitchen is an integral part of any home and often commercial developments too,” Malcolm says. “Naturally, customers want to know that the kitchen company they deal with is reliable, experienced and provides a quality product. They want to talk designers with whom they can relate and they want to see what type of kitchens the company builds.”
It takes lots of experience and creative ability to really excel in this area and Jag’s three designers which include Lesley together with Liz Martin and Caroline Charman, all have hundreds of kitchens to their credit. This means clients don’t deal with someone who is still learning the ropes.

What’s more at the Jag Kitchens showroom, inside Danske Mobler at Botany Town Centre, customers can see eight display kitchens offering a complete range of layouts, colours and materials.
This make it easy for them to visualise how their own kitchen is likely to look. The showroom is also complemented by computer software that enables them to see a colour version of what their proposed kitchen will look like.
“We offer a COMPLIMENTARY design service and free advice on kitchen projects and our in-house carpenter can advise on the practicality and likely cost of renovations,” Malcolm says. “Feedback from our customers showed that many had difficulty finding a builder to do renovation work such as removing or building walls. Realising there was a need in the market, we decided to employ our own carpenter.”
Around 80 per cent of kitchens Jag installs go into existing houses. Consequently, clients often decide to remove walls and open up the space before they install a new kitchen but don’t know how to start the process.
“If someone wants to install a new kitchen that involves building work I am happy to send Cain our carpenter around to discuss the practicality and likely cost of the project,” Malcolm says. “There is no charge for this initial renovation consultation. Sometimes customers are daunted by the thought of removing or building walls when, in fact, the job may be achieved with a couple of days labour and a few hundred dollars worth of materials.”
