DRY and clean air has the remarkable ability to improve people’s health and well-being but when houses are clogged with damp, air allergens and other nasties make themselves right at home.
The experts say dampness is the biggest cause of house damage in New Zealand and respiratory illnesses and allergies are greatly aggravated by soggy abodes.
However, keeping moisture out of homes can be a never-ending task involving mornings of wiping away condensation, opening windows and praying for sunny days. And it is usually all in vain when everyday living produces litres of moisture and many regions seem to have the same amount of precipitation as an Amazonian rain forest.
Make homes drier
AMS Ventilation removes damp air from rooms, which is dried and filtered in the roof cavity before being pumped back into the home. The air in roofs is much drier because space is ventilated and doesn’t have moisture being released into it from household activities such as cooking, washing and even breathing.
A simple idea – requiring little more effort than the flick of a switch.
Weiss co-director, Chris Ahearn says AMS Ventilation is effective and economical but it is not a home heating system.
“For a few hours during a warm winter day warm air in the roof cavity can be pumped into the house,” says Chris. “However, by drying the air it is considerably easier to heat a home, which improves the efficiency of appliances such as heat pumps and wood burners.”
The AMS unit is fitted with ‘smart controlled’ micro-processors that sense the temperature in the roof cavity and then automatically adjusts the volume of air being introduced into the home.
A high grade filtration system removes pollutants and airborne allergens, making the atmosphere cleaner and healthier. Odours are also removed and people come home to fresh-smelling, welcoming rooms.
Mould and mildew
Other conditions such as croup, coughs and colds can also be aggravated by the black spores that spread quickly in damp environments.
Dry environments make it impossible for these horrors to take up residence in homes.
Summer benefits
In humid summer climates, AMS Ventilation continues to dry the air in homes. Hot and sticky interiors are a problem of the past with cool, dry air safely circulated through living areas and bedrooms.
There’s no need to worry about security problems of leaving windows open to let cool air in on balmy nights.
AMS Ventilation System maintenance
The only maintenance required is replacing the filter once every two years. A home handyman or woman can easily replace the filter or AMS will send a technician to get the job done.
Homeowners can sit back and relax in their warmer, drier and healthier home.
