Experts in new build and replacement aluminium joinery
For more information call: Daimon or Andrea Taunton. Onsite Installation Ltd. Ph 272 8270. Fax 274 8724.
Windows are essentially the eyes of every home and with clever design they enhance the aesthetics of a building, let in light, keep out the weather and give occupants a perfect view of the outside world.
Of course, the majority of new homes are now built with aluminium joinery, usually in colours to match interior décor. However, in many older homes, deteriorating wooden window frames and sills are being replaced with new aluminium joinery.
When it comes to aluminium joinery expertise, Howick-based company, Onsite Installation Ltd, supplies and installs Fairview architectural aluminium joinery exclusively through Phoenix Aluminium.
Onsite directors Daimon and Andrea Taunton aim to make homes beautiful and functions, putting quality and professionalism first. They have constant contact with their customers from consultation to lock up stage and can advise on selection of the right joinery styles and colours. Importantly, they provide a FREE, no-obligation written quote usually within 24 hours of a customer enquiry.
“Once the job is approved, the windows and doors are generally manufactured within 10 working days,” says Daimon, who has more than 15 years industry experience and is assisted on the job by skilled aluminium worker, Anthony Clay.
In particular Daimon and Andrea are accustomed to doing renovation work on existing homes where new windows and doors are required for extensions or where poorly constructed or aging wooden window fames need replacing.

“Old wooden window frames may allow drafts and even water to invade the home,” Daimon says. “On the other hand many early version aluminium windows don’t allow for ventilation and in many cases are also faded or outdated in style.
“When it comes to building new or replacing joinery it is now necessary to consider newly introduced regulations governing the thermal properties of new homes. As a result of these regulations homeowners have realised that double glazed windows and doors are the simplest way to control condensation, improve insulation and minimalise noise from outside.”
Andrea points out that in homes where better access to the outdoors is required many people are opting to remove walls under existing windows and to install aluminium framed doors.
“Stackers – usually three glass doors with two that slide back – are one of the most appealing options, allowing easy control of the opening width for walk-through and ensuring just the right amount of fresh air enters the home,” she says. “Bifolds are also popular with many people preferring these over ranchsliders. Tinting is also a good idea to reduce glare and provide privacy.”
As well as new installations and replacement joinery, the team from Onsite Installation also replaces, extends and builds new decks. “Extending a house’s footprint over an existing deck area and creating a new room which opens onto a brand new deck using one of our many joinery solutions is yet another popular option.”
